What is my LuminAID light made of?Updated 2 months ago

LuminAID lanterns are made with durable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a flexible and abrasion-resistant material designed to withstand the demands of outdoor use.

Durable TPU

TPU is known for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to abrasion. It can withstand a wide range of temperatures, making it well suited for camping, travel, emergency preparedness, and other outdoor activities.

UV-Resistant Coating

Our TPU is specially formulated for high UV resistance to help protect your lantern from prolonged exposure to sunlight. This helps reduce yellowing, brittleness, and cracking over time.

Quarter-Cut Valve

PackLite Series lanterns feature a specially designed quarter-cut valve that makes inflation and deflation simple. The valve allows you to inflate or deflate your lantern by pushing or pulling on the valve ends—no special equipment is required.

What If My Lantern Gets a Hole?

While TPU is highly puncture resistant, accidental damage can happen. For small holes or tears, a waterproof, flexible adhesive or epoxy designed for use on both plastic and rubber may be used. Larger damage may require a patch designed for materials such as rain jackets or air mattresses.

LuminAID lights are also backed by our 1-Year Warranty. If your lantern is damaged or you aren't sure how to repair it, please contact our Customer Care team for assistance.
