How long will a full charge last when my light is in storage?Updated 2 months ago
LuminAID lights use built-in lithium-ion polymer rechargeable batteries, similar to the batteries used in many cell phones. When fully charged and stored properly, the battery will retain most of its charge over time.
Like all rechargeable batteries, a LuminAID battery will gradually lose a small amount of charge while in storage, even when the light is not being used. How quickly the battery loses charge can vary depending on storage conditions and temperature.
To help keep your LuminAID ready when you need it, we recommend:
- Fully charge your light before storing it.
- Recharge your light every 4–6 months while it is in storage.
- For solar charging, place your LuminAID outdoors in direct sunlight for the recommended charging time.
- Store your light in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.
Regularly recharging your LuminAID while it is stored will help ensure it's ready for your next adventure or emergency.
