No. LuminAID lights are designed with built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and charging circuitry to help prevent overcharging during normal use. Once the battery reaches a full charge, the charging system is designed to stop actively charging the battery.
For the best battery life and performance, we recommend:
- Keep your LuminAID charged before extended trips, camping, or emergencies.
- If storing your light for a long period, recharge it periodically to help maintain the battery.
- Use the recommended charging method and cable for your specific model.
- Keep your light away from extreme heat while charging or storing it.
Battery runtime varies depending on how you use your light. Higher brightness settings and, on compatible models, charging a phone will use more battery power than lower brightness settings.
